Dermalogica – Elevate Your Education Scholarship

What is the Elevate Your Education Scholarship?
The Elevate Your Education Scholarship Program is in dedication to Lisa White Spiering, a gifted, talented, dedicated Professional Skin Therapist and Corporate Training Manager. Lisa was a major influence at IDI corporate headquarters and beyond, touching every aspect of our classes from curriculum to building relationships with students. Lisa will always be remembered for her boundless energy, generous spirit, and dedication to excellence. Lisa represented the core values of The International Dermal Institute and Dermalogica, and truly found her passion as part of the tribe.

What Does the Scholarship Include?
We’re seeking to find and reward the most passionate, gifted newcomers to the world of professional skin care. Each scholarship covers the Expert Program workshops (a value of over $1,400), and completion of becoming a Dermalogica Expert. Each recipient will have access to jobs.dermalinstitute.com and the IDI Job Board and they will receive support from a local Business Consultant to help with job placement or starting your very own Dermalogica Account.

Who is Eligible for the Elevate Your Education Scholarship?
This program is intended for students who are new to the industry and IDI (defined as those who are within 2 months of graduation, or licensed skin therapists who have been in the industry for less than 1 year). Partnership school students who are waiting to take their exam are also eligible.

How are the Recipients Selected?
A panel at The International Dermal Institute and Dermalogica headquarters in Los Angeles, California reviews all submissions and agrees on up to 10 recipients, three times a year. Recipients will have six months to complete the Expert Program.

Is the Elevate Your Education Scholarship Based on Financial Need?
No. The scholarship was created to identify, seek out and nurture professional potential and excellence, regardless of financial circumstances. We will not research your income or other financial records. Submissions are judged on the applicant’s level of motivation, sincerity, originality and passion for a career in skin care.

How do I Apply?
Your submission will consist of: • Completed application (please see below for guidelines) • Creative entry with summary of entry (see below for guidelines) • Summary description of submission (no more than 50 words) • Letter of recommendation from your school or instructor • Photocopy of your license (if applicable) All components must be sent together. Incomplete entries will not be considered. By submitting your application, you are consenting to The International Dermal Institute and Dermalogica’s use of your name, photography, video image, written materials, etc., in marketing materials.

OPI’s “Round Yourself in Color” scholarship will be awarded through the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation and is open to newly accepted or currently enrolled students in a nail technology program that leads to licensure in the U.S. or Canada.

Applicant Qualifications
The OPI “Round Yourself in Color” Student Scholarship applicant qualifications are:

  • Must be a new or currently enrolled student in a nail technology program from an accredited school/institution within the U.S. and Canada.
  • The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program.

Application Requirements

  1. Complete online application and submit proof of enrollment / acceptance in a nail technology program. You must upload either an enrollment document, official acceptance letter, or progress report from the school.
  2. Submit a 3-minute maximum, YouTube video with a public link answering the following questions (if the video exceeds the 3-minute requirement the application will be declined):
  • Name a nail art beauty influencer that inspires you; how do you hope to inspire the next generation of nail artists?
  • How will OPI’s “Round Yourself in Color” scholarship help you achieve your goals?

Circadia Skin – Sage Michaela Lucas “Timing is Everything” Esthetics Student Scholarship – Spring 2024

Circadia® The Sage Michaela Lucas “Timing is Everything” Esthetics Student Scholarship
The Sage Michaela Lucas “Timing is Everything” scholarship is generously funded by Circadia®, a pioneer in the science of chronobiology and skincare. Circadia® is again generously donating a total of $50,000 in Esthetics Scholarships for the Spring and Fall Season for the next two years. The Sage Michaela Lucas “Timing is Everything” award celebrates diversity, inclusivity, and affirmation.

The scholarship is open to esthetics students enrolled in an accredited program and who identify as black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC). The scholarship grant targets esthetic students pursuing a career in aesthetics, skincare formulation and/or cosmetic chemistry.

$10,000 Total for Spring 2024

Two (2) $5,000 for the Spring 2024 season from March 1 – May 31, 2024.

Each awardee will receive the following:

  • Mentorship program that includes a one-hour call each month to discuss business proposals, financial overview, skincare products and services etc.
  • Invitation and all-expense paid trip to attend Circadia’s Annual Gala the year recipient receives scholarship, and a lifetime invitation for future Gala events.

Applicant Qualifications

  • The applicants must identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color)
  • Must be a currently enrolled (or a newly accepted student) in a in an esthetics program that leads to licensure in the U.S. or Canada.
  • The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school/institution.

Application Requirements

  1. Complete online application and submit proof of enrollment from an esthetics program by uploading your: progress report, or official acceptance letter from an accredited school/institution.

Jerry Alexander Gorman Foundation “The Passion To Succeed” Scholarship For Cosmetology, Barbering And Hair Design Students

Jerry Alexander Gorman lived a life dedicated to his passion for the professional beauty industry. As a young man, with a new family to support, he took evening classes to become a licensed cosmetologist, while working full-time during the day. His perseverance for success did not stop there. After working for years as a hairdresser, he soon opened his first salon, and many years later became a national sales manager for a major manufacturer of salon and home beauty products. After years of experience, he channeled his love for the industry and decided to give back by becoming a successful and beloved educator.

In that spirit, his family formed the Jerry Alexander Gorman Foundation in his memory in 2015. The foundation was created with its main emphasis on awarding scholarships for students, specifically to those living in lower income families, to support their education to any discipline within the professional beauty industry.

Scholarship Description & Award Information

The Jerry Alexander Gorman Foundation “The Passion to Succeed” Student Scholarship was formed to support those in need to achieve their goal of becoming a licensed professional. The scholarship will be awarded through the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation and is open to newly accepted or currently enrolled students in a cosmetology, hair design  or barbering that leads to licensure in the U.S.

Award Amount | # of Recipients
One (1) $6500 scholarships for Cosmetology, Hair Design or Barbering Students.

For the Spring 2024 Scholarship season open from March 1 – May 31, 2024.

Applicant Qualifications

  • This scholarship is open to new or currently enrolled students in a cosmetology, hair design or barbering program that leads to licensure at an accredited school in the U.S.
  • The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school or institution.

Application Requirements

  1. Complete online application and submit proof of enrollment / acceptance letter from an accredited school or institution.
  2. Submit a 3-minute maximum YouTube video with a public link answering the following questions:
  • Jerry Gorman had a passion for the industry, and he overcame many obstacles to make his dream a reality. What obstacles have you faced on your journey?
  • Why do you want to make a career in the professional beauty industry? What part of the industry drives your passion? What made you choose this profession?
  • What financial constraints have affected your ability to follow your dream? How will this scholarship be beneficial to your success?

The Zonta Club of Hamburg-Orchard Park

2024 Zonta Adult Scholarship

Application Deadline: April 24, 2024

The Zonta Adult Scholarship will be awarded to an adult woman desiring to pursue or complete her education to further her career. Zonta International is a worldwide service organization working to “Build a Better World for Women and Girls”. The Zonta Club of Hamburg-Orchard Park has been chartered since 1966 and has been awarding scholarships almost since its inception.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicant must be 25 years of age or older.
  • Applicant must be a resident of the South Towns or attending school in the South Towns.
  • Acceptance and proof of enrollment in an accredited school must be submitted before scholarship is awarded.

Selection Criteria:

  • Satisfactory response to all segments of application.
  • Review of references.
  • All applications must be returned by student by April 24, 2024.
  • Selection Date: May 8, 2024.
